Design thinking is a powerful process of problem-solving that is grounded in empathy and begins with understanding unmet human needs. From that insight emerges a process for innovation that encompasses ideation, creativity, prototyping, and experimentation. When design thinking approaches are applied to education challenges, the success rate for innovation improves substantially. In this course, you'll learn the foundational design thinking skills, develop new mindsets, tap into your creative potential and solve at least one of your own wicked problems.
In this course you will learn everything you need to successfully solve a wicked problem using Design Thinking. Each week we will dive deep into one phase of the Design Thinking process and explore the skills and mindsets needed, relevant education examples and templates to go do the work. The outline of this course is as follows

Alyssa Gallagher is an experienced public school educator, school & district administrator, author, facilitator and educational consultant. Having worked in a variety of roles from school principal to assistant superintendent of schools, Alyssa understands firsthand the complexity of educational leadership and is passionate about improving the learning experiences we create in schools. She is the co-author of Design Thinking for School Leaders: Five Mindsets that Ignite Positive Change in Schools and currently working on a follow-up playbook of strategies for educational leaders. Alyssa is a widely recognized expert on Design Thinking, educational leadership and innovative strategies that reflect 21st century learners whose message resonates well in the field.
